I wanted to take the time to write this letter to you to apologize for my absence and lack of support during your tough times. Looking back, I can see now that I was not there for you in the way that you needed me to be. I am truly sorry for not being a better friend/partner/family member during those difficult moments in your life.

I know that my actions, or lack thereof, may have caused you pain and for that, I am deeply regretful. I want you to know that I am genuinely sorry and I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me.

I understand if it takes time for you to process my apology and it’s okay if you need space. I just want you to know that I am here for you now and I am ready to offer my support and be there for you in any way that I can.

I hope we can move past this and rebuild our relationship. I value you and our connection, and I don’t want my past mistakes to define our future.
