I confess my sins to You with a heavy heart, seeking Your mercy

A Prayer of Confession and Restoration

Dear God,

With a heavy heart, I come before You to confess my sins.
I have wandered from Your path and made choices that brought harm to others and pain to myself. I carry the weight of those decisions, and I ask humbly and sincerely for Your forgiveness.

I acknowledge my wrongdoings not to dwell in guilt, but to open my heart to Your mercy and healing.
Please guide me in making things right. Give me the courage to take responsibility, the wisdom to grow, and the strength to offer healing where I’ve caused hurt.

I know I am not worthy by my own merit, but I trust in Your endless love, compassion, and grace.
Cleanse me, Lord. Renew my spirit. Lead me out of darkness and into the light of Your truth, peace, and purpose.

Help me walk forward not in shame, but in transformation. Let my life be a reflection of Your goodness, and may the path I walk now be one of humility, love, and redemption.

In Your holy name I pray,
Amen.

How to Write a Confession from the Heart

Writing a confession can help you express regret, ask for forgiveness, and begin a more honest spiritual path. A confession does not need to sound perfect. It should be sincere, humble, and clear.

1. Begin with honesty

Start by admitting that you need forgiveness. You can write, “Lord, I come before You with a humble heart."

2. Name what you regret

Write about the actions, thoughts, or choices you are sorry for. Be honest, but do not write in a way that feels harmful or too detailed.

3. Ask for mercy and strength

A confession should include a request for forgiveness, healing, and help to change.

4. End with hope

Close your confession with faith that God can guide you toward peace, repentance, and a better life.
